Paris Games Week 2026 has opened its doors, bringing four days of gaming, esports, cosplay, technology and creator activities to Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.

Running from 22 to 25 October, this year's event celebrates its 15th edition with the Playground Edition, bringing together major publishers, independent developers and gaming communities.

What is Paris Games Week?

Paris Games Week is one of France's biggest gaming exhibitions, bringing together publishers, developers, hardware manufacturers and players.

Organised by GL events Exhibitions and Rivaj Group alongside French video game trade association SELL, the event combines playable games, esports, retro gaming and pop culture.

This year's Playground Edition puts greater emphasis on interactive activities, encouraging visitors to explore different areas of the exhibition.

The anniversary introduces a gaming-inspired robot mascot, featured in official artwork created by studio aPART and illustrator Massy Puster. French rapper and gaming enthusiast Bigflo also returns as artistic adviser, helping shape the event's entertainment programme.

The exhibition runs daily from 9:30am to 7pm French time, equivalent to 8:30am to 6pm in the UK.

Paris Games Week's interactive Playground app

One of the anniversary edition's additions is the official Paris Games Week 2026 mobile app, designed to help visitors explore the exhibition.

The Pixel Hangout has installed and explored the Android app remotely, confirming that it includes daily schedules, searchable activities, filters for exhibitors and event categories, an exhibition map and practical visitor information.

The app also displays a Playground experience featuring levels, points and challenges associated with different areas of the event.

According to the organiser's official press release, visitors can complete challenges, unlock collectible badges and earn rewards while exploring the exhibition.

However, because our testing was conducted remotely, we haven't been able to verify how the on-site challenges, points system or rewards function in practice.

It's an interesting concept that aims to make exploring the exhibition part of the gaming experience.

Which companies are attending?

The official exhibitor directory confirms major gaming companies, including Nintendo, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Ubisoft, Sega, Capcom, Bandai Namco Entertainment and Microids.

Technology exhibitors include ASUS, Corsair, Logitech and JBL Quantum.

However, attending the exhibition doesn't automatically mean a company is announcing a new game or launching a product. Individual demonstrations and announcements require separate confirmation.

Capcom brings playable Monster Hunter and Mega Man previews.

Capcom has confirmed a programme of games and activities for the exhibition.

At stand C40, visitors can try Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, which Capcom describes as the expansion's first playable appearance in Europe.

Another highlight is Mega Man: Dual Override, offering a playable preview of the returning action-platforming series.

Capcom's line-up also includes Resident Evil Requiem, PRAGMATA, Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen.

Monster Hunter producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and game director Takuro Hiraoka are scheduled to appear on 22 and 23 October.

Further details are available through Capcom's official announcement.

Indie games, retro classics and gaming hardware

There's much more to Paris Games Week than the biggest publishers.

The Discover Zone showcases French and European independent games, offering opportunities to discover smaller projects and meet their creators.

Retro enthusiasts can explore the Retrogaming Zone, celebrating classic games and the systems that helped shape gaming history.

Meanwhile, the Hardware Zone by Overclocking focuses on PC gaming technology, displays, peripherals and demonstrations.

With companies such as Corsair, Logitech and ASUS attending, technology enthusiasts have plenty to investigate, although specific product launches shouldn't be assumed.

These attractions form part of the wider PGW Gaming programme.

Esports, cosplay and creator activities

Competitive gaming and community entertainment are another major part of the exhibition.

Capcom has confirmed the Street Fighter League EMEAA 2026 finals for Saturday, 24 October, featuring competitive Street Fighter 6 action.

Beyond esports, Paris Games Week features cosplay, trading card games, pop culture activities and opportunities to meet gaming personalities.

The Meet & Greet and PGW Pop Culture areas give visitors spaces to connect with creators and celebrate their shared interests.

Opportunities for aspiring developers

Paris Games Week also offers activities for people interested in working in gaming.

Taking place on 22 and 23 October, PGW Business by CMS brings together studios, publishers, investors and other industry professionals for networking and discussions.

The new PGW Campus focuses on education and gaming careers, with industry talks and information about game design, development and digital creation.

These can be followed through Capcom France on Twitch and Capcom France on YouTube.

Other broadcasts should be checked against individual publishers' announcements.

What should gaming fans watch for?
